Sicily Food Project

This mission is part of the Sicily Food Project, sponsored by the Department for Productive Activities of the Sicilian Region under the EU Structural Funds 2007-2013.

The project aims at carrying out a series of actions of internationalization and marketing in favor of Sicily food&wine sector in the period 2012 - 2013 - 2014.

In particular, this means supporting Sicilian and foreign operators and sustaining them on the advantages deriving from a proper process of internationalisation through a productive and commercial integration, participation in the main international fair events relating to the sector and incoming activities.

The project includes a series of initiatives in favor of Sicilian companies for the promotion of organic products made in Sicily, creating new business opportunities and industry partnerships:

  • Participation in the main sectoral fairs
  • Advertising on national and international specialist magazines
  • A communications campaign on social networks and search engines
  • Promotional publications on Sicilian territory and on organic productions (download the pdf)
  • Incoming missions in Sicily
  • These instruments all contributing to the marketing of typical Sicilian products and increase the flow of visitors when sectoral fairs are held.

From the the website, visitors can access a section dedicated to companies, where they can view the project updates and adding on to the main company and product information; a kind of an on-line showcase accompanied by photos and contacts which could serve as a further promotional instrument for companies.

The site is meant to be a reference tool for all those who are interested in the world of Organic finding useful information about fairs, regulations, news, links and more.
