Frequently Asked Questions

Why have I received no or only very few meeting requests?

  • None?  Have you activated the B2B meeting checkboxes?
  • Only a few?  The better the cooperation/research profile you submit, the more meeting requests you will receive.
Often registrants wish to complete their event registration quickly and neglect to create meaningful and qualitative
organisation descriptions and collaboration wishes (I am offering ..., I am looking for ...). A low quality profile provides no motivation for other participants to get in contact with you to discuss possible cooperation.

Why publish a high quality research and cooperation profile?

  • Research and cooperation profiles give you the opportunity to publish and promote your collaboration wishes before and after the event.
  • Event participants, and any other internet user, can find your profile on the event website and read up on your organisation details and your published cooperation wishes.
  • An analysis of a large number of matchmaking events showed that high quality profiles are visited between 50 to 150 times before the event, and again afterwards.
  • The better your cooperation/research profile, the more meeting requests you will ultimately receive.

How does the matchmaking work?

At a matchmaking event people meet and greet at high speed. Bilateral meetings usually take between 20 and 30 minutes. This is usually enough time to establish business/research/technological connections. Once the agreed upon time is up, the bell rings and the next meeting starts.

Each participant completes a research and cooperation profile as part of the registration process. This profile is displayed for all to see on the event website. Each participant can select meetings with other participants they would like to talk to personally using the online tool. Participants receive their own personalised meeting schedules a few days before the event. This schedule outlines WHO the participant will meet, WHEN they will meet and WHERE they will meet.

What are the benefits of participating in a brokerage event?

All participants can use the profile facility to present their expertise/projects/technologies to a large audience online BEFORE the event takes place. The cooperation profiles will be extensively promoted. Participants can contact one another in advance of the event and get to know exactly who they will meet on the day. A brokerage event of this kind, therefore, represents a very efficient and focused way of finding new collaboration partners.

How can I register for the event?

Click on the green 'Register' button on the start page to begin the registration process.

What type of information do I need to fill in the registration form?

  • Form 1: Event sessions, remarks for the event organisers
  • Form 2: Contact data (person and organisation). Provide some information about the organisation you work for, its research focus and areas of activity.
  • Form 3: Collaboration profile. The collaboration profile is VERY IMPORTANT if you wish to receive many and worthwhile meeting requests. Fill in the cooperation profile properly and give details on, e.g., your research/technology/product/project, innovative aspects, current stage of development and the target partner sought. The cooperation profile is your virtual business card; the higher the quality, the more participants will select you for bilateral meetings!!!

Who is the participant?

The participant indicated in the profile should be the person who will participate in the brokerage event and who is responsible for creating the research and cooperation profile. Participants should provide their contact details (especially e-mail and mobile phone number) so that they may be informed directly in relation to registration, programmes, changes to the event organisation, etc.

What are 'support offices'?

In most cases 'support offices' are Enterprise Europe Network offices (chambers of commerce, technology agencies, etc.) who support companies in engaging in international business free of charge. If your region is not listed in the drop-down menu, please select 'other.'

You can choose a password during the registration.

Forgotten your password?
Click on the 'Login' button. There you will find a link 'Forgot password?' Use this link to receive an email with further instructions.
PS: The registration mail contains an 'Autologin' link through which you can sign-in to your personal dashboard directly, without the need to enter your email address and password. For this reason, you should not share your registration confirmation mail with others.

How to change your password?
Please login using your Autologin link (which you will find in the mail you received upon registration) and go to 'Change Password.'

Research and collaboration profiles - Is it possible to insert more than one profile?

Yes, it is. Every participant can create several profiles.
Please note that profiles are associated with individual participants. The same organisation can be registered twice, represented by two different participants (contact persons).

Is it possible to modify my profile?

Yes, it is. Login to your profile via the Login button or the Autologin link you received with your registration mail. From your personal dashboard you can then use the tabs to modify any of the content you have already inserted.

When will my profile be available online?

The quality of each profile will be checked by the event organiser. If your profile meets the quality criteria your registration will be validated and the profile will be made public. If not, you will be contacted by the event organiser with a request to improve your profile. Registrants with poor profiles will not be validated for attendance of the brokerage event.

How can I book meetings?

The facility to book bilateral meetings will open about 2-3 weeks before the event, after most of the participants have registered, created high quality research and cooperation profiles and been validated by the organisers. Participants be informed when booking starts by email.

  1. Select the link 'Participants' from the main menu.
  2. Use the green 'Book meetings' button which you can find on each participant's profile

Can I refuse a meeting request?

Yes, of course.

  1. In your dashboard select the tab 'Meetings' to list all meeting requests (own bookings and guest bookings).
  2. Use the 'Reject' button to refuse a meeting request.

Why are meeting requests accepeted by default?
On average, only about 10% of meeting requests are refused. In this way, the burden on participants to manage their profiles is kept low for the majority (90%) of participants as they are not required to confirm a request they will probably accept anyway.

When will I get my personal meeting schedule?

  1. One week prior to the event you will receive a preliminary meeting schedule by email (contains all of your meetings scheduled up to that point)
  2. 2-3 days before the event you will receive your (more or less) final meeting schedule by email
  3. At the event reception desk you can collect your very final schedule as a paper copy (taking into account any last minute changes and cancellations)

What if, due to unforeseen circumstances, I cannot participate in the brokerage event?

Please inform the event organiser immediately.
If you have booked meetings/you have been booked for meetings, please contact your meeting partners directly and inform them that you cannot keep the appointment.
