PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The programme of the EU INDIA STI COOPERATION DAYS will offer a unique opportunity to discuss ongoing and future cooperation in research and innovation for scientists, academia, industries, SMEs and policy makers that will attend the event.

The two-days programme will include sessions dedicated to the policy dialogue and priority setting in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation. Furthermore, special sessions will be held in order to explore projects ideas from young researchers, market opportunities for entrepreneurs and to promote funding opportunities offered by European and Indian multilateral and bilateral cooperation programmes and by industries. Also workshops for the linking of existing bilateral and multilateral projects on Energy field, and finally moments for networking during prearranged face to face meetings.

OPENING SESSION 

09.00 12.30 am

The Opening Conference will gather high-level speakers and provide participants with background information on EU-India collaboration - general and with specific focus on Energy - to set the scene for further fruitful discussion during the different sessions/workshops of the event. The Opening Conference is divided into two sessions: 

-  9:20 – 15:45: Latest developments in India-EU STI cooperation

-  11:20 – 12:30: EU-Indian common challenges and potential cooperation priorities in the field of Energy

YOUNG SCIENTIST COMPETITION 2014

01.30 - 03.00 pm

The young scientist competition 2014 gives young researchers from India and the EU the opportunity to promote their research projects and ideas for cooperation by introducing them to the EU-India STI cooperation network.

NETWORKING CAFES

03.00 - 06.00 pm

During the 5th edition of the " EU-INDIA STI COOPERATION DAYS" networking opportunities will be offered to the participants. They will have the opportunity to meet other conference participants in pre-arranged bilateral meetings to discuss your own project, programme or initiative and reinforce the relationship with your actual or potential Indian or European interlocutors.

PECHA KUCHA PROJECTS PRESENTATION

09.00 - 11.00 am

Coordinators of European-Indian Energy research projects will be invited on stage to present their works. They will have the challenging task of doing it through a 20 slides presentation, each slide visible on screen for 20 seconds.

ENERGIZING EU-INDIA STI COOPERATION - in the areas of "smart grids", "solar energy" and "bioenergy"

11.15 - 01.00 pm

The panel discussion at this conference will be a forum to exchange views on these thematic areas between a broader group of stakeholders including a co-chair of the GSO Thematic Working Group on Energy, potential instruments for funding activities in those areas such as ERA-Nets or JPIs and other initiatives active in the field of energy (e.g. EERA), industry, the policy level, and the scientific community.

VALIDATION WORKSHOP

2.00 - 03.30 pm

The workshop aims at discussing and validating the results of the survey carried out by INNO INDIGO to design multilateral calls which consider interests from industries, focusing especially on what is the best way for companies to participate in IPP. This reactive working group will involve Indian & European SMEs, funding agencies, clusters and Regions interested in contributing to this exercise.

VALORISATION WORKSHOP 

03.45 - 05.15 pm

In this workshop, that has a clear focus on water and energy, you will get views and inside information on those elements that must speed up the implementation process. Speakers from science, industry and finance will give their best practices and views on valorization and market uptake.

CLOSING SESSION

05.15 - 06.00 pm

In this session the outcomes and inputs of the thematic panels will be presented and the winner of the young scientist competition will be announced. The closing session is the opportunity to wrap up what has been discussed and worked on during the conference.
