The Barcelona Mobile World Capital (BMWC) acts as a meeting point for the main industries, with the mission to help creating optimal conditions to achieve global benchmark for mobile transformation.
Within the BMWC umbrella, mHealth Competence Center (mHCC), is focused on promoting the improvement of the welfare and health of citizens by personalizing services based on mobile technology.
The vision of mHCC is to become a key player in the development of mobile technologies applied to health and welfare by promoting processes acceleration and alignment of stakeholders toward common goals.

The Active and Assistive Living (AAL) programme funds projects in public-private partnership in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) for active and healthy ageing since 2008. The programme was renamed this year after being renewed for a second phase (the first was from 2008 until 2013 and was named ambient assisted living joint programme) and it is financed by the European Commission –under the Horizon 2020umbrella- and 19 countries until 2020 for an estimated budget of € 600 million.
The overall objective of AAL is to enhance the quality of life of older adults while strengthening the industrial base in Europe through the use of ICT.

Focus will be on sharing and disseminating evidence on innovation procurement practices from EU projects, and in particular promotion of the risk/benefit sharing aspects of these.
