Aeronautics and space are key sectors for boosting the economic development in the UE. Thus, around 60 European territories, including Andalusia (Spain) and Alentejo (Portugal) have considered this field as priority within the framework of their correspondent Smart Specialization Strategies for R&D (RIS3).
Accordingly, both cross-border territories are developing and carrying out a set of instruments, actions and partnerships for the implementation of their regional RIS3 Strategies, R&D and industrial policies, in collaboration with the most relevant European stakeholders in the aerospace sector.
One of the main collaborations has been established with the European program CLEAN SKY, the largest European research programme developing innovative, cutting-edge technology aimed at reducing CO2, gas emissions and noise levels produced by aircraft. Funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, Clean Sky contributes to strengthen European aero-industry collaboration, global leadership and competitiveness working with EU Regions and States.
This event consolidates the continuous collaboration that the Agency of Innovation and Development of Andalusia is maintaining with the European Commission and the European Defence Agency to enhance the full potential of Dual-Use Technologies and Markets.
