EUSDR Environmental Pillar - Stakeholder Seminar

BUDAPEST, 17th October 2017 14:00-18:00 PM

Venue: Ministry of Agriculture 1055 Budapest Kossuth Lajos ter 11.

In order to futher highlight the environmental-related topics discussed on the occasion of the EUSDR Annual Forum, the Hungarian PA6 (Biodiversity & Landscapes) Steering Group Members will organise a side event one day prior to the main event (in the afternoon on 17 October 2017). The seminar will be hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and will be held on its premises (1055 Budapest, Kossuth Lajos square 11).

The „EUSDR Environmental Pillar - Stakeholder Seminar” will be realized in cooperation with EUSDR PA4 (water quality) and PA5 (environmental risks) priority areas. The event will consist of a discussion concerning future challenges in the field of water quality and environmental risks. The seminar is to present a snapshot of the diverse nature of environmental challenges the Danube Region countries are facing with the aim of generating a discussion around how to achieve balanced and long term economic development.

The seminar seeks to draw attention to the importance of ongoing joint cooperations - on an organizational and sector-specific level - while also discussing those future challenges where joint actions are needed to mitigate the threats to the environment and the natural values of the region.

The Stakeholder seminar will be opened by the Hungarian State Secretary in charge of environment and nature conservation and will be followed by presentations of high representatives from the ICPDR, the Carpathian Convention and the Global Water Partnership. We expect around 100 stakeholders to participate.

The event will be held in English. Please register here:
