Amy ZHOU, Chairman

Amy Zhou is the Chairman of American-China Sports Association and Chairman of Union National Culture and Sports Foundation. Ms. Zhou is actively engaged in the exchange of sports, culture and music. Brian was educated in Stirling and Glasgow where he studied Business Administration. Brian is a career civil servant having had spells in the private sector (e.g. Oil & Gas, Mining and Marine industries).Brian has held a number of Director positions in the Department of Energy (including a twelve month secondment to the Piper Alpha Public Enquiry), Department of Trade and Industry (now Business Innovation & Skills) and UK Trade & Investment involving the promotion of UK industry internationally. 

In 2001 Brian was appointed a Senior Civil Servant with global responsibilities for the Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Automotive, Advanced Engineering, Mining and Marine sectors. Brian has been Counsellor at the British Embassy based in Beijing since January 2011. Brian’s previous position was British Trade Commissioner to South Africa from 2006 to 2010 based in Johannesburg. Brian is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce.

Brian is Chair of the ECHAlliance, a membership (not-for-profit) organisation focused on 'Delivering leadership for the development of Connected and MHealth markets and practice across Europe and beyond'.  
Brian developed his career as a consultant, manager and/or investor in both private and public companies. He has worked in the UK, the US and lived in Hong Kong for eleven years. He has gained vast experience as a company director in a variety of industries and professions, and has raised significant sums for companies through both private equity structures and stock exchange listings.  Through his long established consultancy company, Corporate Direction Ltd, he is currently providing strategic advice to Governments, International organisations and companies on the challenges facing healthcare in general and specifically on the Connected Health opportunity.  
Brian has founded a number of companies in the healthcare services area in the UK, Ireland and Hong Kong. During his time in Hong Kong he founded what has become the largest private healthcare group there. 

Brian is also a Director of the China Connected Health Alliance.


Prof. Carol CURRAN OBE PhD, Dean Faculty of Life & Health Sciences

University of Ulster

Professor Carol Curran OBE is the Dean of the Faulty of Life and Health Sciences at Ulster University, Northern Ireland. Professor Curran has led a Nursing programme in Saudi Arabia and is conversant with the cultural context of care delivery. She has a background in community nursing and is familiar with the implications of technology in an assisted living environment. 

Professor Curran is a registered adult nurse, a specialist practitioner in district nursing and qualified teacher. She obtained an honours degree in Nursing Studies in 1990, an MSc in Professional Development in 1997 and a PhD in 2005 all from Ulster University. She was made an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in 2014 by Her Majesty the Queen for services to Nursing and Education in Northern Ireland.

Celine Le Cotonnec is Head for Connected Services, Digital and Mobility for PSA Peugeot Citroen Asian Direction. Further her mission at the French Economic Trade Commission in Shanghai, she is now in charge within PSA China of defining a seamless user experience for Chinese customers while developing new connected services for PSA Joint Ventures in China across three brands: Peugeot, Citroen and DS. She works closely with R&D open innovation teams and external partners, from automotive or disruptive industry.

Celine has been living in China for ten years, speaks fluent Chinese and is graduated from a Master Degree from Sun Yat sen University in Guangzhou as well as from an Executive MBA of the European Institute of Purchasing Management (EIPM) in Shanghai.

Prof. Daidi ZHONG, Professor 

Bioengineering College of ChongQing University, China 

Daidi Zhong is the professor of Bioengineering College at Chongqing University. He is the Chair of IEEE 11073 Personal Health Device Workgroup, leading and contributing to numerous international and national standard developing projects in personal health domain.

He has been dedicated to "interoperability" development for medical devices especially personal connected devices for community and the family. Professor Zhong was a keynote speaker at Personal Health Devices Standard Tutorial in May 2014.

Gregory R. SHAW, Director, International and Corporate Relations 

International Federation on Ageing (IFA)

Greg has a science and health administration background and until taking up his current position in June 2003, held senior management positions within the Australian Commonwealth Department Health and Ageing. Prior to joining the IFA he was the Manager for residential aged and community aged care programs in Western Australia.

Since joining the IFA Greg has had responsibility for the development of the Building Capacity in Health Care Programs in Africa. He worked closely with the South African Human Rights Commission to establish an older person’s forum in that country and in 2010 worked with the Government of Mauritius on the establishment of an Observatory on Ageing. He represents the IFA at the United Nations, works closely with government and has responsibility for IFA elder abuse initiatives. Elder Abuse initiatives have included the development of educational toolkits targeted towards youth; in 2011 he was responsible for convening an International Forum on Sexual Safety of Older Women; and in 2013 convened a high level meeting to examine issues of financial abuse of Canadian seniors.

Since 2013 he has been working with other Civil Society Organizations on the Global Thematic Consultations on Population Dynamics, Post-2015 Development Agenda to ensure the needs of older people are recognized.

Hector Lui has more than 18 of years experience in the media and network industry building leading-edge solutions with state-of-the-art technologies. Prior to joining Medipromos, he served as Executive Vice President of ChinaECNet (ECCN), a joint venture with MII, China.

Mr. Lui is responsible for the media division, a leading digital media for the semiconductor industry in China. He invented “online seminar” and became the first to provide the service to the semiconductor industry in 2000, later he and an international team innovated the service and created the name called “Webinar” to differentiate between online and offline seminar.

From 2003 to 2007, ChinaECNet became No.1 digital media in China, providing online marketing solutions for the semiconductor industry. Companies such as Intel, TI, ADI, Xilinx, Altera, National semiconductor, ST, Tyco, Freescale, etc have used online marketing regularly. Prior to joining ChinaECNet, Mr. Lui served as Vice President of First Internet Alliance Inc (San Jose, CA), an ISP and Internet Ready Building provider, where he deployed Internet Ready Building in the Silicon Valley. Mr. Horace Hou is the Director of Healthcare Solution for Great China in Oracle. He has deep knowledge and broad experience in China healthcare IT industry; he used to take the manager role of healthcare solution R&D lab., solution architect and project executive, and senior consultant in many hospital and regional healthcare IT contraction projects. He is now charging healthcare related the market & solution strategy, business development, and partner enablement for Oracle Great China.

Mr. Hou is also an expert in HL7, HL7 CDA, IHE XDS, SNOMED CT etc international healthcare standards and interoperability framework. Joan Cornet was born in Manresa in 1950.Technical Engineer, and graduate in Psychology. After working as a Clinical Psychologist in a General Hospital in 1979, he was elected mayor of Manresa. In 1988 he began to work as civil servant in the European Commission in Brussels, where among other projects he lead EURES employment network. Later he was appointed Secretary General of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament in 1994. In June of 2004 he was named General Secretary of the Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia. In September 2005 the Government entrusted him to start up the “Bioregion of Catalonia” (Biotechnology) and since January 2007 to May 2013 has been CEO of TicSalut Foundation (ICT Health). Reminding board member of TicSalut Foundation related to international affairs and mHealth Strategies, nowadays he is Director of “mHealth Competence Center” at Mobile World Capital Barcelona.

He is also a Professor/ consultor of the UOC (Catalonia Open University) and IL3 (International Long-Learning -University of Barcelona).

Jong-Tae Park, Professor of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Kyungpook National University

is a professor of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Kyungpook National University, Korea. He received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan and previously worked at AT&T Bell Labs in the United States. He was chair of Department of Information and Communication Science, Graduate School, Kyungpook National University. He founded the Committee of Korean Network Operations and Management (KNOM) in the Korean Institute of Communication Sciences, and a chair of the Technical Committee of Information Infrastructure of IEEE Communication Society.

He has served as a committee member of Korea Communications Commission, Digital Broadcast Promotion Task Force, and also served as a committee member of Korea Communications Commission, Future Internet Task Force. He is currently director of Center for U-Healthcare Convergence Network, and leader of government project on Internet of Things (IoT) and Healthcare Service Convergence. He has published more than 200 journals and articles in the areas of network management, mobile healthcare services, and Internet of Things.

Julien Venne is the Strategic Advisor of the European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance). His role is to support companies in their business development in Europe, and policy-makers and public authorities in several European Countries. His expertise covers innovation development, business models design and ecosystem creation within the Connected Health sector.

He has a multi-disciplinary academic background, with economics, sociology, political sciences and complex systemic.

He worked by the past for different health and social care providers and drove several projects and eHealth clinical trials about chronic diseases management and active & healthy ageing. He has as well a good experience in the support to start-ups and SMEs in their development, as he managed 2 incubators and created 2 companies.


Keith Kreisher, Executive Director

London-based International M2M Council (IMC)

Keith Kreisher is Executive Director of the London-based International M2M Council (IMC), the world’s largest and fastest-growing professional organisation for M2M and the IoT, with over 10,000 OEMs, enterprise users, andd apps developers as members, and gaining 300 new members weekly. The IMC recently completed what is thought to be the largest quantitative market-segmentation study ever conducted for the IoT sector across eight vertical markets, inlcuding healthcare.

Mr. Kreisher is also Director of the US-based M2M Zone exhibition, and he has held senior marketing management positions at business information companies such as McGraw-Hill, Reed Elsevier, andAdvanstar Communications. He holds an MBA from Fordham University in New York and a BA from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.


Lisa M. BUTLAND, Director of Innovation and Research

North West Coast of England Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN)

Lisa joined the NHS in the UK almost 30 years ago and spent over 20 years in information management and improving organisational performance.  She has extensive experience in the fields of innovation and research being a founding member of an international partnership with the European Lung Foundation which led to the creation of an on-line tool to help patients become ambassadors for their health conditions - EPAP (European Patient Ambassador Programme).  She spent 2 years running the National Innovation Challenge Prize Programme which encourages, recognises and rewards innovation in healthcare.

Lisa now leads the NWC Eco system and the underpinning development programme of Innovation Scouts.  The NWC Ecosystem brings together partners from health and social care, industry, academia and patient organisations to focus on improving health across the North West Coast at the same time as generating economic benefits for the region, through the uptake and deployment of connected health solutions.  Lisa is an active researcher looking into how big organisations, like the NHS, develop Innovation/Change Champions.

In his role at China Sports Industry Group, Mr. Liu is responsible for the overall strategic planning and the business plan implementation, with the focus on corporate management, strategic development, business development and brand building.

Mariëlle Swinkels is a Health scientist and co-director of Smarter Futures (EEIG). She is a strategic policy advisor of the Smart Health Program of the province of Noord-Brabant in the Netherlands.   She offers support to a learning community in which universities, higher and vocational education & training centres, research institutes, businesses, government, health & social care organisations and therapeutic centres collaborate together to improve the uptake of smart health innovations. New courses, care innovation centres and skills labs have been implemented in the Dutch education & training system.

Also specialised training programmes for citizens and professionals of the existing workforce of health care organisations and medical centres connect theory to practice.   As the province of Noord-Brabant is one of the founders of the European Community of Regions for Asssisted Living (, she also supports this European collaborative learning network of about 35 other innovative regions across Europe.


Mark ENNIS, Senior Non Executive Director

Mark is the Senior Non Executive Director of Intelesens Ltd. He was the original investor in Intelesens (formally ST&D Ltd) as a spinout company of the University of Ulster in 2000 and has been a serial investor in new technologies in both the medical and energy sectors since.

Mark is Chairman of SSE Ireland since 1st October 2010. He moved from an executive role to non executive in April 2012 to facilitate him taking up the appointment of Non Executive Chairman of invest NI in January 2012. Invest NI is the Inward Investment Organisation of the Northern Ireland Government that promotes inward investment and trade between Northern Ireland and other countries, including China, USA, and Europe.

Mark was re-appointed as Chairman of Invest NI for a further 3 year term in January 2015.

In October 2013 he was appointed as a Non Executive Director to Liberty Insurance Ltd where he Heads up the Risk Committee and is also a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Mark also holds Non Executive directorships in a number of start up companies in the Pharmaceutical, Medical and Waste to Energy sectors.


Michael NOVA, Chief Innovation Officer

Dr. Nova is currently the chief innovation officer of Pathway Genomics, and was a founding team member of the company. He is the inventor the Pathway-IBM/Watson Big Data-Deep Learning mobile application Panorama; and the entire nutrition (Pathway FIT/Healthy Weight) line of products for Pathway. Dr Nova has executed major corporate alliances with Medco/ESI, PepsiCo, DASA (Brazil), Achibadem (Turkey), IHH/Parkway (Singapore), IBM, and many others. His scientific career began at the Salk Institute in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Roger Guillemin, where he studied the genetics and proteomics of human growth factors and cancers. Michael was the founder and CEO of Discovery Partners Inc. (Nasdaq: DPII), which completed a successful $150M IPO and marketed wireless and radiofrequency combinatorial chemistry technology. Dr. Nova is also a 2005 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer Award Winner; and the physician of record on the first person ever to have their entire genome sequenced by Illumina (2009).

With degrees in Physics and Medicine, Dr. Nova is a Dermatologist licensed in California. In his minimal spare time, Michael likes to surf big waves in Indonesia and Mexico, and he helped build a WHO-sanctioned basic care clinic in the Fijian town of Nabila.

Millard was born in Shanghai, China. For the past 20 years he has specialized in connecting multinational corporations in the fields of acreditation and authentication, elderly care, healthcare, sports, and culture to the appropriate Chinese Ministry. He has established multiple networks with the following: the Ministry of Public Security for programs in ID Cards within multiple areas of China and for product authentication, a prelude to an ePedigree system; with the Ministry of Human Resources Social Security for the only Central Government approved Elderly Care Centers; with the Ministry of Health in working on connectivity programs for China Hospital Association and its 10,000 hospital members; and with the Ministry of Sports for a Nationwide "Camp and Clinic" system for basketball. 

Additionally, he served as Vice Chairman of Culture for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Pamela has worked for PPG Industries for 40 years and their TESLIN substrate business since 2005. She facilitated introduction of TESLIN substrate for numerous high-security global government credentials including electronic passport for the United States, China, and 39 other countries. Pamela is also responsible for defining how TESLIN substrate can assist critical global needs like product authentication and secure supply-chain tracking.

Peter CHAU, Chief Executive

Peter Chau is the Chief Executive of the China Connected Health Alliance, which recently signed a collaboration agreement with the ECHAlliance and is actively engaged in establishing the CCHAlliance in China. Peter was born and raised in Hong Kong. Chau has extensive entrepreneurial experience in developing and marketing companies in China, USA, and UK.

From 1996 – 2005, Chau served as the Chairman of advertising group Publicis China.  He was instrumental in building Publicis China towards becoming the largest advertising group with branches throughout China.

Since Publicis, Chau has founded LED Corporation, a publicly listed company on AIM board of London Stock Exchange.  LED Corporation is a China-based company focused on researching and developing LED technology.  Peter Chau is the Co-Founder of Pegasus Holding Group , a British Virgin Island based investment holding group interested in real estate development, education and green technology focused in China.  Chau is currently based in Shanghai, UK and New York. 

Peter is a Non Executive Director of the European Connected Health Alliance.
