AquaMatch 2017

Session 2 | Water and a Circular Economy, Funding opportunities for Innovation

Special meeting: presenting project calls for Water in Horizon 2020 and Eurostars (Dutch participants only)

Programme (13:00 - 14:00) inclusief lunch

The circular economy in relation to water and other valuable resources is crucial for sustainable growth. Many private and public parties develop new innovative products, processes and services which contribute to a circular economy. To reduce time to market and to demonstrate new circular economy solutions in collaboration with partners there are excellent opportunities for support in the European research and innovation program Horizon 2020 and the Eurostars program.

During this lunch session we will show you the funding opportunities for enterprises and industry related to these two subsidy programmes. We will present examples of projects which have been previously funded. In an interactive session questions related to funding will be answered and the differences between subsidy programmes will be highlighted. Afterwards, meetings can be arranged with specialised advisors from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency for further in-depth support.

Background information Horizon 2020 and Eurostars

Horizon 2020

The European research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 offers opportunities to SMEs, industry and other stakeholders, to develop and demonstrate their innovation in preparation for the European (and global) market. Accelerating the Circular Economy is one of the priorities of the European Union and substantial funding will become available the coming years for this topic.

In October a new working program for 2018-2020 will be launched, describing specific calls for proposals for water and circular economy topics. These topics include:

  • CE-SC5-03-2018: Demonstrating systemic urban development for circular and regenerative cities
  • CE-SC5-04-2019: Building a water-smart economy and society
  • SC5-11-2018: Digital solutions for water: linking the physical and digital world for water solutions
  • SC5-12-2018: EU-India water co-operation
  • SC5-13-2018-2019: Strengthening international cooperation on sustainable urbanisation: nature-based solutions for restoration and rehabilitation of urban ecosystems

Please note that at the moment of writing, these topics are not final yet, texts are available in draft. Official publication will take place in October 2017. Upon publication of the topics, links will be added to this text for further information.
