The Swedish-Belgian Call for R&D Project Outlines will be launched on 1 September, 2017. Deadline for submission is 19 January, 2018. For this Call, Switzerland joins as a partner country of Sweden and Belgium, because joint networking conferences are organised in Belgium (October 4th) and in Switzerland (September 28th) in autumn 2017. Consortia participating at the present Call should integrate partners from at least 2 of the 3 countries.
Please be aware that Swedish-Belgian projects can also be submitted to the official Eurostars call on 14 September, 2017. There will be no separate ‘SBII Call’ for this deadline. Consortium partners are nevertheless invited to discuss project ideas with the respective EUREKA Eurostars office before submission.
Previous Calls under the umbrella of the Swiss-Swedish Innovation Initiative (SWII) have had a good impact providing finance to a total of 30 bilateral projects with an aggregated project value of some 38 million Euros. The outcome of the first SWII Call was a tenfold increase in Swiss-Swedish bilateral R&D projects with EUREKA and Eurostars financing. This brought Switzerland and Sweden to become the two countries within the EUREKA network with the highest number of bilateral projects. SBII is a pilot conference to further evaluate and discover potential collaborations between Sweden and Belgium, and builds on the concept and success of SWII.
The EUREKA framework is the leading European platform for industry-led, applied, close-to-market research (www.eurekanetwork.org).
The aim of the SBII calls is to provide applicants:
