University of Lodz, established in 1945, is now one of the largest universities in Poland. The research and teaching activities are conducted at 12 faculties. As the University of Lodz Foundation, Innovation Center - High-Technology Accelerator (CIAT)
we support and accelerate commercialization of new technologies, innovative products and services from University of Lodz. We help companies and institutions that are looking for new technological solutions, products, services, R&D projects and cooperation opportunities. We are based around University of Lodz structures, which ensures flexible business approach to different needs of companies and gives access to:
- Specialized teams of scientists in all the fields related to biotechnology,
- Lab equipment,
- Network of commercialization experts in given fields of biotechnology.
Moreover, we offer services for companies that aim to start cooperation with University of Lodz:
- We help companies to acquire funds from EU programmes and other sources (we find the source of funding, write application, help to manage the project).
- We help companies applying for EU grants to prepare the required documents (the evaluation of innovation and market opportunities – opinie o innowacyjności) in cooperation with University of Lodz and other R&D Institutions.
- We match companies and their needs with R&D teams at University of Lodz.
We have over 7-years experience in practical innovative business development and new technologies commercialization in day-to-day realities. This combination of real life business running and transferring new technologies from science to markets, makes us experts who will help develop and implement new technology, product or service.

During BioForum 2011 we represent University of Lodz - Faculty of Biology And Environmental Protection, Faculty of Chemistry and Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics. We promote:

• Anti-HIV short nucleic acids transported by nanovehicles based on dendrimers as novel therapeutical approach for HIV-1 infection.
• Evaluation of biological activity of different derivatives of nitroxyl antioxidants and their effect on cytotoxicity of anthracycline and taxane anticancer drugs in breast cancer cells.
• Application of novel nitroxyl derivatives as modulators of taxane cytotoxicity in breast cancer cells.
• PAMAM DENDRIMERS as anti-diabetic agents useful in diabetes treatment.
• Nanoparticles synthesis and characterisation - Synthesis, characterization and modification of gold, silver, copper, platinum nanoparticles.
• Elaboration of model geofibrous, biodegradable biological composites for the recultivation of nitrogen and phosphorus pollutions in rural area.
• Polish strains of Trichoderma sp. in biocontrol and to make productive organic wastes.
